<h2>Overview</h2><p>FIFA 18 is the 25th installment of the <a href="/fifa/3025-609/" data-ref-id="3025-609">FIFA franchise</a>. The longstanding <a href="/ultimate-team/3015-7909/" data-ref-id="3015-7909">FIFA Ultimate Team</a>, Player/Manager Career and Online Seasons modes are all included. Additionally "The Journey", FIFA's story-based career simulator, makes a return for it's second year. Cristiano Ronaldo stars on the cover for FIFA 18.</p><p> </p><p> </p><h2>FIFA Ultimate Team</h2><p>Ultimate Team is the popular, card-based mode where players can buy and sell footballer cards to build a fantasy squad used to compete in online and offline modes. Squad Building Challenges, Champions Weekend League, Draft tournaments and Online Seasons are all available as modes from the previous year.</p><h3>New Mode: Squad Battles</h3><p>Squad Battles is a new single-player mode offered in FIFA Ultimate Team. Over the course of a week, players challenge curated squads for points based on difficulty and performance. Rewards are given out based on the points earned.</p><h3>New Card: Icons</h3><p>With the departure of "Legends" players, FIFA brings in a collection of historically significant football stars, known in the game as <a href="https://www.easports.com/fifa/ultimate-team/fut-icons/ratings" rel="nofollow">Icons</a>.
