<h3>Overview</h3><p>West of Loathing is a standalone, single player RPG/adventure game set in the universe of <a href="/the-kingdom-of-loathing/3030-34916/" data-ref-id="3030-34916">Kingdom of Loathing</a>.</p><p>While West of Loathing retains the familiar monochromatic stick figure art of Kingdom of Loathing, it now features actual animation and direct character control. Combat is turn-based and takes place on a battle screen grid.</p><h3>Setting</h3><p>The game is set in the "Distant Lands," a continent to the west of the Kingdom of Loathing. Along they way, they may run afoul of four major factions of villains: infernal cows from hell, a circus of sinister clowns, a necromantic cult, and robots from an ancient civilization that have been unearthed and run amok.</p><h3>Classes</h3><ul><li><strong>Cow Punchers</strong> are muscle-based warriors who specialize in hitting things and beefing up.</li><li><strong>Beanslingers</strong> are mysticality-based spellcasters with cooking skills.</li><li><strong>Snake Oilers</strong> are moxie-based gunslingers who can brew patent tonics from snake parts.</li></ul><h3>Pardners</h3><p>You may choose one pardner (companion) to accompany you on your journey:</p><ul><li><strong>Crazy Pete</strong>, an unhinged old prospector and expert in mining.</li><li><strong>Doc Alice</strong>, an alcoholic physician hates skeletons (the undead kind).</li><li><strong>Susie Cochrane</strong>, a rancher whose family was killed by demonic cows.</li><li><strong>Gary the Goblin</strong>, a strangely cheerful fungal lifeform.</li></ul><h3>DLC</h3><p>Reckonin' at Gun Manor released in February 2019 adds a new area: the peculiar haunted mansion of Terri Gun, the inventor of the gun. You must discover the secrets of Ms. Gun and exorcise the thirteen ghosts of people who were killed by her invention.</p>
