<h2>Overview</h2><p>Late Shift is a <a href="/full-motion-video/3015-604/" data-ref-id="3015-604">full-motion video</a> crime-thriller adventure game developed by <a href="/ctrlmovie/3010-13956/" data-ref-id="3010-13956">CtrlMovie</a> and published digitally by <a href="/wales-interactive/3010-9412/" data-ref-id="3010-9412">Wales Interactive</a> for the <a href="/pc/3045-94/" data-ref-id="3045-94">PC</a>, <a href="/mac/3045-17/" data-ref-id="3045-17">Mac</a>, <a href="/xbox-one/3045-145/" data-ref-id="3045-145">Xbox One</a>, and <a href="/playstation-4/3045-146/" data-ref-id="3045-146">PlayStation 4</a> on April 18, 2017. It was also released by CtrlMovie for <a href="/iphone/3045-96/" data-ref-id="3045-96">iOS</a> devices (including the <a href="/apple-tv/3045-159/" data-ref-id="3045-159">Apple TV</a>) on April 21, 2017 and was originally shown in special "interactive screenings" (where the audience can participate with apps for iOS and <a href="/android/3045-123/" data-ref-id="3045-123">Android</a> devices) at film festivals between March 9, 2016 and November 17, 2016.</p><p>An <a href="/cinematic-games/3015-4700/" data-ref-id="3015-4700">interactive movie</a> and a proof-of-concept for the developer's <a href="http://www.ctrlmovie.com/" rel="nofollow">CtrlMovie platform</a>, Late Shift allows players to make time-limited key decisions at numerous points in the film (similar to <a href="/telltale-games/3010-397/" data-ref-id="3010-397">Telltale's</a> adventure games since <a href="/the-walking-dead/3030-34205/" data-ref-id="3030-34205">The Walking Dead</a>), which allows them to directly influence how the story progresses. Although each playthrough is roughly the length of a hour-long feature film, it has numerous <a href="/branching-story-line/3015-1646/" data-ref-id="3015-1646">alternate scenes</a> and seven unique <a href="/multiple-endings/3015-27/" data-ref-id="3015-27">endings</a>.</p><p>The story, written by <a href="/michael-robert-johnson/3040-170500/" data-ref-id="3040-170500">the screenwriter behind</a> the 2009 film <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sherlock_Holmes_(2009_film)" rel="nofollow">Sherlock Holmes</a>, tells the tale of Matt Thompson: a university student in modern-day <a href="/london/3035-212/" data-ref-id="3035-212">London</a> working as a late-night <a href="/multi-story-car-park/3035-2409/" data-ref-id="3035-2409">car park</a> attendant.
