<h2>Overview</h2><p>Axiom Verge is a 2D action-adventure in the <a href="/metroidvania/3015-2440/" data-ref-id="3015-2440" data-mce-href="/metroidvania/3015-2440/">Metroidvania</a> style, developed by <a href="/thomas-happ-games-llc/3010-10838/" data-ref-id="3010-10838" data-mce-href="/thomas-happ-games-llc/3010-10838/">Thomas Happ Games</a>. The game was released for <a href="/playstation-4/3045-146/" data-ref-id="3045-146" data-mce-href="/playstation-4/3045-146/">PlayStation 4</a> on March 31, 2015. A <a href="/playstation-vita/3045-129/" data-ref-id="3045-129" data-mce-href="/playstation-vita/3045-129/">PlayStation Vita</a> release is also planned which will support <a href="/cross-buy/3015-7554/" data-ref-id="3015-7554" data-mce-href="/cross-buy/3015-7554/">cross-buy</a> with the PS4 version. The game was released on <a href="/pc/3045-94/" data-ref-id="3045-94" data-mce-href="/pc/3045-94/">PC</a> on May 14, 2015, and will be released on <a href="/wii-u/3045-139/" data-ref-id="3045-139" data-mce-href="/wii-u/3045-139/">Wii U</a> (ported by <a href="/blitworks/3010-9146/" data-ref-id="3010-9146" data-mce-href="/blitworks/3010-9146/">BlitWorks</a>) and <a href="/xbox-one/3045-145/" data-ref-id="3045-145" data-mce-href="/xbox-one/3045-145/">Xbox One</a> (ported by Sickhead Games) sometime in 2016.</p><p><br /></p><h2>Gameplay</h2><p>Axiom Verge is a 2D action-adventure game which takes heavy inspiration from the original <a href="/metroid/3030-21761/" data-ref-id="3030-21761" data-mce-href="/metroid/3030-21761/">Metroid</a> and subverts the expectations set up by that. The player controls Trace, a scientist who wakes in an alien world after an explosion.</p>
